Origin: Natural hybrid of C. Crenata and C. Sativa (Corrèze)
Recommended 
cultivation area:
South-West to 500 m, Brittany, South-East, quite widely adaptable, seems to correspond to area covered by vine culture.

Specific features: Tree needs to be stimulated by size.
Stocks: Onto its roots (ink resistance not well known). Of greater interest on ink-resistant stocks.
Vigour: Average.
Bearing: Very erect, with limited branching.
Fruiting: Quite quick – 2 to 3 years.
Budding: Early, sensitive to frost but can produce from secondary buds that appear less early.
Productivity: Good, but needs quite high vigour depending on size, stock and culture.
Diseases: Resistant to leaf-rust.
Male flowers: Long-staminate, low pollen fertility.
Pollinating agents: Recommended: all long-staminate C. Sativa + CA 75
Flowering period: Male flowers 15-30 June. Female flowers 25 June – 10 July.

Early Migoule is the only variety of chestnut tree with a dividing level of over 12% still widely produced, because of its large size and high calibre.
