  General assessment
Marigoule is a chestnut that is highly rated in the fresh product market. Its cultivation area is restricted to low-altitude, sunny areas. Elsewhere, productivity is still poor. The tree makes considerable demands on soil, but its vigour and wood quality make it of interest for reforestation.
