Origin: Natural hybrid of C. Crenata and C. Sativa, originating from Ardèche

South-West up to 400 m altitude, Brittany Region, Isère, not greatly tested in South-East.

Specific features: Very fruitful tree with attractive fruit.
Stocks: Must be grafted onto ink-resistant stocks.
Vigour: Average.
Bearing: Round-shaped.
Fruiting: Quite quick – 2 to 3 years.
Budding: Early – sensitive to frost but can produce from secondary buds that appear less early.
Productivity: Good.
Diseases: Resistant to leaf-rust, slightly sensitive in zone 3.
Male flowers: Long-staminate, very abundant pollen but with low fertility.
Pollinating agents: All long-staminate C. Sativa + CA 75 recommended.
Flowering period: Male flowers 19 June – 2 July, female flowers 30 June – 10 July.

Colour: Very pale chestnut that quickly darkens
Size: Large to very large, varies according to nourishment levels

  General assessment
Fruit highly valued on the fresh market. One of the most productive of current varieties, with good plasticity in adaptation.
